Journalists Detained in BelTA Case
On the morning of 7 August, the Investigative Committee came with search warrants to the offices of Tut.by portal and news agency BelaPAN, as well as to the apartments of some journalists of these media. We currently know about the arrests of seven journalists.
Investigative Committee launched a criminal case for unauthorized access to computer information under Article 349 Part 2 of the Criminal Code «Unauthorized access to computer information».
The basis for initiating a criminal case was a report by BelTA unitary enterprise about glitches when accessing a paid subscription to the services provided by BelTA to one of its customers.

Editor in chief of the Tut.by portal. According to the Investigative Committee, she is detained on suspicion of violating Article 349 Part 2 of the Criminal Code «Unauthorized access to computer information».

Hanna Yermachonak
Editor of Science Pop section at Tut.by. Arrested, but her status is unknown.
Ulyana Babayed
Head of «Society» section at Tut.by. According to her husband, she has been arrested, the police searched her home and seized all the computer equipment.
Halina Ulasik
Editor of Tut.by. Her daughter was informed by the Investigative Committee that Halina had been detained under article 349 of the Criminal Code for three days.
Tatsiana Karavenkova
