  • Journalist Dzmitry Lupach targeted: Hlybokaye investigators announce charges in local paper

    The Hly­bokaye Dis­trict Depart­ment of the Inves­tiga­tive Com­mit­tee has opened a crim­i­nal case against Dzmit­ry Lupach. Accord­ing to the IC, he is sus­pect­ed of aid­ing an extrem­ist for­ma­tion, mean­ing his coop­er­a­tion with the Bel­sat TV chan­nel.

    The state-run region­al news­pa­per Ves­nik Hly­bochchyny report­ed that “Dzmit­ry Lupach, who has pre­vi­ous­ly com­mit­ted a crime under Part 1 of Arti­cle 361 of the Crim­i­nal Code, has repeat­ed­ly com­mit­ted the same offense with a crim­i­nal intent to assist in the extrem­ist for­ma­tion Bel­sat TV. This assis­tance was pro­vid­ed in the form of a video on the Hly­bokaye Com­pound Feed Mill, which was pro­duced for lat­er use by Bel­sat TV.”

    On May 8, Bel­sat TV pub­lished the video on its Telegram chan­nel that has been declared extrem­ist, “thanks to Lupach’s assis­tance.”
