Andrei Bastunets walks out from questioning

In par­tic­u­lar, the Inves­tiga­tive Com­mit­tee the chair of BAJ was a wit­ness in a crime under part 3 of Arti­cle 361 of the Crim­i­nal Code of Belarus: «Actions referred to in para­graphs 1 or 2 of this Arti­cle, com­mit­ted with the use of the media, or the glob­al com­put­er net­work Inter­net.» The arti­cle pro­vides for pun­ish­ment of two to five years of impris­on­ment.

Andrei Bas­tunets had to sign a non-dis­clo­sure state­ment, and can­not speak about the details of the case.

How­ev­er, he said that the case had noth­ing to do with the activ­i­ties of the Belaru­sian Asso­ci­a­tion of Jour­nal­ists.

The inter­ro­ga­tion car­ried out in the pres­ence of a lawyer, last­ed for about three hours.
