  • Tatsiana Tkachova Winner at Vilnius Photo Circle Festival

    BAJ member Tatsiana Tkachova has won an award at the photo contest Vilniaus fotografijos ratas.

    The inter­na­tion­al pho­to con­test Vil­ni­aus fotografi­jos ratas has tak­en place for the tenth time. 246 pho­to sto­ries were sub­mit­ted from 186 pho­to jour­nal­ists. Last week­end, the win­ners were award­ed at the Vil­nius Uni­ver­si­ty.

    The main prize went to the Greek pho­tog­ra­ph­er Gior­gos Moutafis with a sto­ry about refugees. At the cer­e­mo­ny, the pho­tog­ra­ph­er said that the award was a com­mem­o­ra­tion sign for those peo­ple who per­ished on the refugees’ trail away from war.

    Tat­siana Tka­cho­va has been marked in the con­test Home­work for young pho­tog­ra­phers. There were 52 con­tenders with 59 pho­to sto­ries. Tat­siana’s st’ry tells about her chiled­hood vil­lage Malas­tou­ka and the changes it has wit­nessed late­ly.

    The works were exhib­it­ed last week­end at the Lithuan­ian cen­ter Lit­Ex­po and at the Vil­nius Book Fair. Some oth­er expo­si­tions are planned.
